Minnie Pearl's Hat

I have been thinking about this card for about a week now and finally got motivated today. I made this for a contest at the Papercrafts website. I fondly remember watching Hee Haw as a kid while visiting at my grandparents' house. I did a little research today on Minnie Pearl just to be sure I got all the details right. I was astonished to find that she was a breast cancer survivor and has a foundation. You have to take a peek at her wonderful foundation at: http://www.minniepearl.org/index.html

Ok, so here is how I made the card. I started with an A2 size card and cut the shape of the hat for a bottom opening card. I used SU Ivory cardstock for the base and then stippled on chalk ink in yellow cadmium and vintage photo distress ink to get the straw hat look. I then attached a bunch of flowers from my huge supply. This was the best part of the process....so many flowers, so little time! The sentiment is stamped using PSX Clear by Design letters and Brilliance orchid ink. The little tag is a diecut and I wrote the price on it. All of Minnie's hats had the same price on them $1.98. Gotta love Minnie Pearl.

I agree with Kim! This is just the cutest hat card EVER! If this isn't a contest winner, I don't know what would be! Absolutely fantastic Tami! :)

I like it, too, especially the orange flowers. So vibrant. And do I see glitter? :) Well done. Good luck with the contest.

We had a "no Hee-Haw" ban at our house. lol
